Overview

Stronger Under Pressure.

Engineered specifically for the complexities of house and oversized building relocation, the TRT ESS House Trailer integrates our industry-leading Electronic Steering System (ESS). This ensures unparalleled manoeuvrability, safety, and efficiency, even on the most challenging sites.

Features

Core features like our advanced Electronic Steering System and hydraulic suspension are standard, with variations in axle numbers and deck lengths. Quick-connect clip-on modules offer further versatility.

  • Electronic Steering System (ESS)

Configured to support on-site steering control, Electronic Steering System (ESS) provides steering up to 35 degrees either side of straight ahead. This supports predictable response when manoeuvring in tight access and aligning a load for set-down.

Steering control via remote or cab screen

Independently isolate steering control for all axles

Minimum deck width for complete ESS steering: 2850mm

  • Axle Configurations and Side Shift Options

Available in 3 axle, 4 axle and 5 axle configurations to suit different loads and site constraints. Side shift options support alignment when space is limited.

3 axle, 4 axle and 5 axle ESS House Trailer configurations

Side shift options: hydraulic landing feet/side shift, kingpin side shift, front and rear chassis side shift

    Deck lengths/configurations vary by model

  • Hydraulic Suspension

Designed to support stable positioning, TRT integrates double-acting hydraulic suspension into the trailer design for the left and right-hand side legs and gooseneck. The range also includes double-acting split leg hydraulic suspension for independent axle control (as specified).

  • Deck Height Range

The current page specifies the following deck heights for the ESS house trailer setup.

    Lowered deck height: approximately 900mm

    Raised height: around 2.85 metres

  • Quick Connection Clip on Modules

TRT offers 1 and 2 Axle Quick Connection Clip on Modules using a patented quick connect system. The current page states you can reconfigure a trailer into a completely different unit in 30 minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is an ESS House Trailer?

An ESS House Trailer is a house-moving trailer fitted with an Electronic Steering System (ESS). ESS is designed to give you more control when positioning a house load on site and to support straight tracking during moves. It’s built for situations where access is tight and placement needs to be accurate, so the steering response stays predictable as you manoeuvre.

  • Can steering be isolated by axle?

Yes. You can independently isolate steering control for all axles when required. This is useful when you need to manage steering behaviour to suit the site layout or the stage of positioning, helping you keep control as conditions change.

  • What deck width is required for ESS?

A minimum deck width of 2850mm is required for complete ESS steering. This is a key fit requirement and one of the first checks to make when confirming configuration—especially if you’re matching a trailer setup to specific access constraints.

  • What steering range does ESS provide?

Up to 35 degrees either side of straight ahead. This steering range supports controlled manoeuvring when turning room is limited and helps with alignment during positioning and set-down.

  • What axle configurations are available?

3 axle, 4 axle and 5 axle ESS House Trailer configurations are available. These options let you match the trailer setup to your operating requirements and the types of sites you work on.

  • What does ESS stand for?

ESS stands for Electronic Steering System. On this range, it refers to the steering system fitted to the trailer that supports controlled on-site positioning and straight tracking, using the control methods listed on the page.

  • How is ESS steering controlled?

Control is via remote or cab screen. This gives you flexibility in how you operate on site—whether you prefer control from the ground during positioning, or from the cab depending on your setup and workflow.
